Portraits can be painted from any suitable photos.
These can be emailed to portraits-uk.com for an estimate, or the originals can be posted to us directly. These will be returned to you free of charge, regardless of whether or not you wish to pursue a portrait painting.
Email scans of photos, or digital originals, should be in as high a resolution as is pracital. Ideally 1600 x 1200 pixels or higher.
Good quality photographs will result in the finest quality paintings. Although a painting could be based on a passport sized photo, it would obviously not result in a realistic 3'x4' masterpiece.
As a general rule, a photo can be enlarged up to 6 times its original size and have enough detail to be painted in a realistic style, but the less enlargement the better.
Several photos can be used as reference on a painting, and elements from the originals can be removed or repositioned, and alternative backgrounds can be painted in.
We will provide an estimate based on the photos submitted, together with a draft artwork to show the style and composition of the proposed painting.
Once a draft has been approved, the painting will be commenced, and regular progress updates sent to ensure that the painting is turning out the way the customer wants it.

As a digitally submitted photos may look different on your PC monitor than on our calibrated monitors, there may be slight discrepancies between the color & contrast of the actual painting and how the customer views it on their own monitor.
Although every effort is made to produce the painting that the customer wants, if they don't like it when it's delivered, then they do not have to pay for it if it returned within 30 days.
