How the estimated price is calculated

Portraits can take from 10 hours to 100 hours to complete, at a basic rate of £30.00 per hour.
The final estimated cost will depend on an assessment of the following:
  • Complexity of the photos supplied, and level of detail required.
  • Number of figures to be painted.
  • Size of painting & medium to be used.
  • Pose of figures - full figures take longest, then half figures, then head & shoulders.
  • Number of alterations from the original photos
  • Features mixed from separate photos
  • Type of background
  • Standard sizes. Non standard sizes of support, mounts & frames are more expensive.
  • Delivery costs. As Portraits-Uk.com is now based in the USA, paintings shipped to the Uk will normally be sent unframed, as the postage cost for sending the frame alone is likely to be more than the cost of a new one.
  • Importing paintings to the Uk may incur a small customs import duty.
